lyrics

Walking in the tail end of the night under cover of the mourning loon
It’s morning soon
I can’t overlook that fatal call to roam any longer, from your point of view, that I was born into:
“If you’re gonna leave, then just leave already”

It’s not like you can help
I’m just fed up with myself for not knowing you the way I ought to
I’m a sculptor in debris
I’m forcing this into some form of you that I can hold on to
If you’re gonna leave, then just leave already

I can’t stand to see your dull reaction when we’re slow dancing in the living room like we always do
Catch a glimpse of you reflected off the window and I stumble into your silhouette,
grab for whatever’s left
If you’re gonna leave, then just leave already

I don’t mean it’s your fault,
I can’t keep up with this waltz,
I just dance this way
Me and my somersaults
I’m gonna leave cause you’re gonna leave me
I’m gonna leave, I’ve been here already

about

Brewster New Jersey

Brewster's 'Honey Shake Me' is an album of transit, a collection of highway songs - there's a "welcome to" state sign at every track break. White lines and stop signs beating a steady rhythm as the nation metls and warps, like a vinyl copy of "This Land is Your Land" left on the dashboard.

They're a stone-cold, wide-armed band, welcoming any and all twangy, emotive music to gather under the tent.
